EDUCATION CLASSES
AT THE LIBRARY
April 1- May 31, 2025
Not for credit. Certificates may be possible for some courses.
Ask at the time of registration.
MISSON: The Woodward Public Library offers a welcome and comfortable
environment where people of all ages can experience creative opportunities,
explore lifelong learning, and connect with other people.
Course Fees: Each class will be $20.00 plus the cost of supplies if there are any,
and $1.00 fee for copies.
Registration and fees must be completed by students before a course begins.
Refunds may be requested up to the beginning of a course but are non-
refundable after the course has begun.
Checks must be written to Woodward Library Foundation. Cash is acceptable but
no credit cards.
Evaluations: A paper evaluation will be presented to every student at the
conclusion of the course. The evaluation will be used by the Library Directory and
the course instructor for future planning.
Weather Cancellations: The same criterion will apply to Community Education as
is used for regular library closures. Every effort will be made to reschedule
Community Education Courses.

The Internet of Things
Connecting devices to the wifi, managing your devices, basic device set up and user discipline.

Introduction to American Sign Language
Students will learn finger spelling, counting and basic ASL signs in a variety of
topics. They will leave the class with basic ability to sign ASL and hopefully being
to ‘read’ it, which is the more difficult part.

Using an Air Fryer
The class will learn how to use an Air Fryer, cleaning an Air Fryer, and what you
can do with an Air Fryer. Learn to cook with an Air Fryer as a quick and affordable
way to cook.

Learn the basics of Google Docs by exploring the word processing feature within

Essential Oils 101: A Beginner’s Guide
The class introduces the basics of essential oils, including history, benefits, and
safe usage. Participants are encouraged to learn how to incorporate essential oils
into their daily lives. Attendees will understand the benefits of essentials oils,
learn safe usage methods, and explore the “top 10” essential oils and their
benefits.

Each class will consist of listening and brief discussions. Each class can stand alone

Beginner Crocheting
Participants will learn basic knowledge of crocheting and stitches. They will learn
how to read a pattern and complete a crochet project.
The ideal attendee is teen or adult.

Getting Your Legal Ducks in a Row
Estate planning 101. The class takes you through 12 types of documents all of us
should have. Why we need them and often to update them. The class will give
clarity to the importance of managing your legal affairs.

Research using Digital Newspapers
Participants will learn how to research newspapers using subjects and time. They
will learn where to locate local historical newspapers online, how locate the
article of, and to print a copy.
